I have at least 2 more apps on my phone that are capable of temporarily bypassing the mute setting to deliver their notifications and then remuting the phone.ZDNET's recommendations are based on many hours of testing, research, and comparison shopping. Am I missing something? Is there a third party solution? The same thing is happening to my wife's phone (also an A52). I've slept in or woken up too early far too many times because of this shitty clock app. Seemed to work for a few weeks before inexplicably starting to mute every alarm except the main bedtime alarm with it.Īm I supposed to just deal with the possibility of being woken up by random marketing messages in the middle of the night or does this phone expect me to manually change my ringer and notification sound to "None" every night and back in the morning? ![]() I thought I'd bite the bullet and leave the ringer slider at max while manually reducing the notification volume slider to zero. With Samsung I make sure the volume slider is maxed out in the alarm tone selection menu but when I set the phone to vibrate only for the night by pulling down the speaker shaped ringer volume slider to the bottom (the one that mutes all the other sliders with it) it also makes all my alarms vibrate only. I'm using a Galaxy A52 and never thought any manufacturer could regress on a feature that's been straightforward and flawless for a decade.Įvery device I've used so far had an independent alarm volume that could be set within the stock clock app that did not care if you were on ringer, silent, or vibrate. How do I make it so my media, calls, and notification sounds are all muted but my alarms still have sound? I've just about given up on ever having a solution to this annoyance. ![]()
